Meet the Team
The team at Andrea’s Topiaries is made up of talented local men and women from the Elgin Valley, who bring a shared dedication and plenty of passion to every creation.
Working in our on-site workshop on the farm, they help bring Andrea’s vision to life, from sourcing materials to crafting bespoke pieces with care and precision.
Andrea works extremely closely with her fabulous team who put so much love and care into each piece they craft. Together, they work to create stunning designs that carry the essence of nature, beautifully preserved for your enjoyment.
Meet Andrea Semple
Andrea’s passion for gardening, nature, and her beloved six dogs is at the heart of Andrea’s Topiaries.
Raised in the Eastern Cape’s beautiful bushveld, Andrea inherited her love for flowers and gardening from her mother. This connection to nature inspired her to start the business over 22 years ago after attending a course on creating topiary trees, which ignited her creativity.
Living on a farm in Elgin, Andrea finds endless inspiration in the natural materials around her and the changing seasons. Winter is her favourite time to forage for new ideas and materials, laying the groundwork for the next season’s designs.
Andrea’s dedication to her craft has grown the business year by year, mastering the art of preserving flowers and foliage. Her connection to the land is deepened through her fluent Xhosa, which she shares with her fabulous team.
Beyond creating beautiful works of art, Andrea is committed to supporting her community by providing jobs for local residents. Her vision is to inspire others through her creations, while remaining rooted in the nature that surrounds her.
